Working Principle

Same 6-stage continuous cutting cycle as SPQ-B but engineered for graphite/FR-EPS: heavier wires, higher heating, ATEX dust capture, slower travel speed (0.5-1.2 m/min vs 0.6-2 on SPQ-B).

The questions buyers ask most often before placing an order.

Why can't I just use standard SPQ-B for graphite-EPS?
Three reasons. (1) ATEX compliance — graphite dust is combustible per zone-22 classification, standard cutters fail insurance audit. (2) Wire wear — graphite particles abrade standard 0.35mm wires causing breakage every 3-5 hours; SPQ-FR's 0.5-0.8mm wires last 200+ hours. (3) Dust load — standard cutters lack HEPA extraction, dust accumulates in cabinet causing fire risk.
Can SPQ-FR also cut standard (white) EPS?
Yes — backward compatible with standard EPS (12-35 kg/m³). The thicker wires and higher heating just consume slightly more power on standard EPS. Most premium factories run SPQ-FR exclusively to standardize their cutting line.
What is the ATEX certification scope?
ATEX zone-22 covers the entire cutting cell (cutting frame + dust extraction + electrical cabinet) per EN 60079-31 and EN 1127-1. Certification ships with machine. Customer's factory environment also needs to be ATEX-zoned if processing graphite — we provide site survey checklist.
What HEPA filter spec, and replacement frequency?
HEPA H13 (99.95% efficiency at 0.3 micron) — captures graphite dust safely. Filter replacement every 6-12 months depending on graphite load. Spare filter kit ships with machine.
Does the slower cutting speed (0.5-1.2 m/min vs 0.6-2 on SPQ-B) hurt throughput?
Effective throughput is comparable because graphite-EPS sells at 1.5-2× the price of standard EPS — slower cut speed is offset by higher margin per sheet. Most SPQ-FR operators run 15-20 t/day vs 25 t/day on SPQ-B but make 2-3× the revenue.
